In this session we will explore the causes and consequences of the 2007/08 financial crisis and discuss the governance of the global economy with a focus on the rise of the G20 as the pre-eminent global economic forum.
Readings
There are no set readings for this session because all students will have read a book on the GFC for the book review assignment. However, students may wish to watch The Inside Job and/or Inside the Meltdown and to read a few news items on the Brisbane G20 Summit in preparation for the class.
